Measure the voltage of the pack with the meter and adjust the off set by pressing either the * or # keys to increase or decrease the offset, the off-set will be immediately applied to the pack voltage.

Press key 0 to step to cell 1, measure the voltage of cell 1 with a meter and adjust the off-set using the scroll keys. Press key 0 to step to the next cell. When all the cells have been calibrated press key 7 to exit

Charge Calibration, Pack and cells

Connect a discharged pack  with remote leads fitted

Select Linear charge from the charge menu.

Press key "3" seven times to enter charge calibration mode.

Adjust the off-set as described above. Press key 7 once to exit

It is best to calibrate the charge when the pack has been charging for more than 3 minutes.

The supply volts can only be adjusted when the remote leads are not fitted.

Stop charging

Remove the remote leads

Select Linear charge

When the amps has reached the set value press key "1" seven times to enter charge calibration mode.

Press "0" to step to supply off-set

Measure the input supply and adjust the off-set

Press key 7 once to exit

Discharge Calibration

Connect a fully charged pack of nicads with remote leads fitted.

Start Discharge

When the time reaches 60 seconds press key "3" seven times to enter discharge calibration mode.

Adjust the off-set as described above. Press key 7 once to exit.

It is best to calibrate discharge between 1 - 2 minutes

This is all discharge information apart from the Power % which comes from the charge data. Club packs would have a Power % figure of around 100%

It is very important for pack performance to have all the Power % figures to within 5% of one another. If the pack consists of 5 cells with 100% power and 1 cell with 105% power, it is likely that the cell with the high power % will go flat first! This is because that cell is producing more of the current than other cells in the pack when discharging.

Note. We know the cells are in series and therefore all the cells should discharge at the same rate, but time and time again we have found the above to be the case.

After discharging the pack to 6 volts well matched packs are those that have Match % above 90%. In the table above cell 3 has the lowest run time, but the Match is 95% which is only 4% lower than the best cell and would not be significant. However if the match of a cell was 75% when the rest were above 95% then this would reduce the performance of the pack.
